Flu News (The Flews?)

Yeah, so apparently the flu’s back. Bad times. And the snow’s coming again. Worse times. The college sent around a general alert about the flu today:

Currently there is an increase in the number of people who have the flu. If you think you have the flu, stay at home and seek medical advice by phoning your GP. Please avoid close contact with others. It is recommended that people stay out of the University for 7 days after the onset of flu symptoms.

Preventing the spread of germs is the single most effective way to slow the spread of flu.

You should always:

  • Use tissues to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze,
  • Place used tissues in a bin as soon as possible,
  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water or use the gel dispensers located in the lobbies of buildings,
  • Clean surfaces regularly to get rid of germs.

Hell of a happy new year, that.
