Earlier today, up to 200 students from NUIG, Occupy Galway and the Galway Technical Institute among others, engaged in a march from the NUIG campus to Eyre Square and on to Fine Gael TD Brian Walsh’s office that was followed by an over two hour long occupation of the AIB on Shop Street.

They said it would never happen but this year, The Student Observer in conjunction with the Print will be bringing you not one, but two Sabbatical debates!
This is certainly a case of come one come all. This Tuesday, Feb 28th, we will kick off our debate proceedings with candidate debates for both positions of MSU President and for VP Welfare and Equality. Thursday will see debates for VP Services, Events and Communications alongside VP Clubs, Socs and Union Development.
Both will start at 19.00. Venues are yet to be confirmed but will be released later today.

Welcome to the second of the original and the only independently conducted MSU election polls. After the interesting results of the last Red P Poll we are ready to fire into the next round. This poll is taking place right before an intense week of campaigning to come. Next week will also see a number of individual interviews, hustings and the soon to be announced Student Observer Candidate Debates.
